Roglič wins Stage 5 and flies into Maglia Azzurra

10/03/2023

Primož Roglič takes Stage 5 of the Tirreno-Adriatico, the 165.7-kilometre Morro d’Oro-Sarnano Sassotetto. After yesterday’s victory in Tortoreto, the Slovenian did it again, this time in the uphill finish of Sassotetto – shortened by 2.4 km due to the strong wind at the summit – outsprinting Giulio Ciccone (Trek-Segafredo) and Tao Geoghegan Hart (Ineos Grenadiers). The final climb was marked by a strong headwind that prevented big gaps among GC men. Thanks to time bonuses, Roglič overtakes Lennard Kämna (Bora-hansgrohe) in the GC.
