Mathieu van der Poel wins Stage 3 of the Tirreno-Adriatico Wout van Aert retains the Maglia Azzurra

 Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix) has won the third stage of the 56th edition of the Race of the Two Seas,  Monticiano – Gualdo Tadino (219 km), ahead of Wout van Aert (Team Jumbo-Visma) and Davide Ballerini (Deceuninck – Quick Step). Wout van Aert retains the Maglia Azzurra.

I’m really happy to take this win, especially after the work of the team. It was a really hard sprint after a long stage. It hurts! I really wanted to win a stage of Tirreno-Adriatico.”
