Juan Ayuso (UAE Team Emirates) has won the first stage of the 59th edition of the Tirreno-Adriatico Crédit Agricole, the 10 km long Lido di Camaiore-Viareggio-Lido di Camaiore Tudor ITT. Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers) and Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) recorded the second and third-best times.
Juan Ayuso also leads the General Classification and wears the first Maglia Azzurra.

Speaking seconds after the stage finish, the stage winner and first Maglia Azzurra Juan Ayuso said: “It’s great. It wasn’t clear until the final. Everyone knew Filippo Ganna was the main rival. He was up there at the intermediate time check. It’s a very emotional victory, a very special one. I had to save the legs in the first part. When I turned back I knew I was going to do a good time. This gives me a good motivation for the week ahead”.
